Interested In Being A Referee?
To become a certified referee for the Town of Mahwah, you will need to take a class that runs for 4 nights during a week, with a test culminating on the fifth day, Friday. You must score 75 or better to pass. To referee in Divisions 2, 3 and 4 you must have a license. You must be over 21 for Division 2. Classes are run from June to early September at various town locations. Check the Mahwah Referee website at: www.mahwahrefs.org for more information.
All referees will receive a yellow referee shirt, whistle, lanyard, and a kit for issuing yellow and red cards. All referees are required to be in proper uniform to officiate each game. Proper uniform consists of:

3(7th/8th) $65
4(5th/6th) $55

- Black referee socks with 3 white stripes at top
- Black cleats or turf shoes
- Whistle
- Stop watch or watch with timer on wrist
- Red/Yellow cards
